When this family moved from the southern part of the U.S. up north to St. Louis, they were transitioning from a large country home to an urban loft downtown. S&K Interiors were able to transform the space.

This loft is a very modern space with concrete flooring. Combining the tastes of both spouses was one of the initial challenges of the project. The wife wanted wood floors with a more updated transitional look, but the husband wanted to keep the concrete for a more modern feel. To meet the desires of both, S&K Interiors kept the industrial elements that were already present in the space. We warmed it up with traditional touches and mustard-colored walls. Though the loft is three stories, space on each floor is limited, so they had to get creative with the dining room table. Tucking the dining room table under the stairs allowed for us to run electrical hidden within each stair tread. Each of the pendant lights hang from the underside of the steps.
